Dental Photography Buying Guide: Phone Lights & Camera Accessories

Start with the phone or camera you already use, then choose lighting and accessories that match it. This guide compares the Dental Photo range and explains what to check before ordering.

1. Choose your starting setup

  • Smartphone: choose a phone light, then decide whether you need polarization accessories or a macro lens.
  • Camera and flash: match polarization accessories to the exact flash model, or choose a bracket to adjust flash positioning.
  • Photography accessories: select mirrors, contrasters or measuring rulers for the views and reference images you need.

2. Compare smartphone lights

Choose MK-016 for a straightforward handheld setup, MK-017 for separate light controls, MK-019 for its arc-shaped layout, or MK-023 when adjustable color temperature is a priority. Check the selected variant: polarization accessories are not included with every option.

3. Check phone fit

Phone dimensions, case thickness and camera position affect mounting and lens alignment. Send us your exact phone model if you are unsure. For the 100mm smartphone macro lens, the listed shooting distance is 7–10 cm.

Already own an MK-016, MK-017 or MK-019? The Zero Reflection Kit includes two polarization screens, a 52mm CPL lens and a case. Its listing does not specify MK-023 compatibility.

4. Match polarization accessories to your flash

Use the model name printed on your flash, not just the camera brand. These listings are for polarization accessories; cameras and flash units are not included.

  • Godox MF12: listed adapter range 49–77 mm. Confirm your exact filter-thread diameter and adapter.
  • Godox MF-R76: model-specific polarization screen.
  • Meike MK-14EXT: model-specific polarization screen.
  • Meike MK-MT24II: model-specific polarization set.
  • Yongnuo YN-14: model-specific polarization screen.
  • Yongnuo YN-24EX: three screens; flashes must remain attached to the flash ring in a horizontal position.

For adapter questions, provide the lens model and its filter-thread size. Do not use focal length, such as 100mm, as the adapter diameter. Ask us to confirm the fit before ordering if the required size is unclear.
