How to Choose Dental Photography Equipment

Choose the right dental photography setup

Dental photography equipment depends on the camera you use, the photographs you need and whether you want to reduce reflections. Start with your existing device, then choose lighting and compatible accessories.

1. Photographing with a smartphone

For convenient chairside documentation, begin with a dedicated smartphone dental photography light. Compare our MK-016 Basic, MK-017 Pro, MK-019 Arc and MK-023 Ring Light. Select the mounting arrangement and handling style that suit your workflow; verify your phone's fit before purchase.

2. Photographing with a camera and external flashes

If you already own a camera and flashes, consider an adjustable twin-flash bracket to position your lighting. The MK-018 and MK-020 are bracket options. They do not include cameras or flash units. Confirm mounting connections before ordering.

3. Reducing reflections with cross-polarization

Cross-polarization can reduce specular glare in dental photographs. The correct filter depends on your light or flash system. We offer compatible accessories for selected smartphone lights and specific Godox, Meike and Yongnuo flash models. These accessories are not universal; check the exact model in each product listing.

4. Adding intraoral photography accessories

Black contrasters can provide a dark background in photographs. Intraoral mirrors support different views, while rulers and macro accessories address specific shooting needs. Check dimensions, contents and suitability for your workflow.
